A Note From Jenny...
I didn’t start with a big plan—just a simple goal after business school: replace my $30K part-time job and create something that genuinely served my community.
So I launched a local nutrition-focused meal delivery company in my mid-20s. I partnered with farms. I sold at markets. This work was flexible enough to allow me to coach high school runners during cross country season.
I poured everything I had into that business for eight years and thought I was living the dream—until I completely burned out.

If I took a day off? Revenue dropped.
Some months I paid my head chef more than myself. And when I had my second baby, I knew I couldn’t keep going like that.

That $23 candle went on to bring in $50K in its first year—without social media, working more than 5 hours a week, or sacrificing time with my family.
It’s the only 100% USDA-certified biobased candle in the U.S. But more importantly—it gave me back my peace. My flexibility. My presence as a mother.
That experience reshaped everything I thought I knew about business.
Today, I teach what I’ve learned—as an adjunct business professor at Gonzaga University and small business owner with over 10 years experience, and now as a mentor to parents and creatives who are ready to earn differently.
